Korean Meals for Frontline Workers
When New York City began to reach its peak of coronavirus cases in April, Sung Book Dong, a Korean restaurant in Little Neck, began delivering discounted meals to the hardest-hit hospitals in NYC as a way of honoring and supporting the healthcare workers for their service.
Sung Book Dong is run by owner Misuk Choi, who is helped by two other employees and her daughter Jeeyoung Choi who delivers the meals all over Queens and Brooklyn for free. As of June 16th, they have prepared and donated over 800 meals to Elmhurst Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Queens, Kings County / SUNY Downstate Brooklyn, NYU Brooklyn, and Brookdale Hospital Brooklyn.
To help Sung Book Dong continue this service and cover the costs of food and labor, you can donate here.
