KoreanAmericanStory.org’s Book Reading and Wine Reception was a huge success, thanks to near capacity attendance at the Korean Cultural Service. The reading, discussions, food and the wine were in abundance and there was a definite sense of excitement in the atmosphere.
The event began with unlimited wines from Montes Alpha Winery of Chile and hors d’oeuvres. The evening ended with another 30 minutes of wine and food, as well as an opportunity to meet the authors.
After a brief introduction of KoreanAmericanStory.org by HJ Lee, president and founder of the organization, Yoon Son, another Board Member, introduced the authors before they read a passage from their respective books followed by a discussion about how they came to write their books. They talked about their own Korean-American experiences and how it is reflected in their writing.
We would like to thank the following people & organizations for their help:
- Korean Cultural Services for the use of their wonderful facilities
- DRINK wine store (and Juno Yoon) for their donation of Montes Alpha Wines
- The Authors: Taehun Kim, Sung J. Woo and Alexander Chee
- All the wonderful volunteers who helped make this event possible.
