Full-Time Position (40 hours per week)
Location: Within Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT)

About Us:
Korean American Story (KAS) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to capture, preserve and share stories of the Korean American experience. We started in 2010 with our first series, Legacy Project, with the goal of documenting stories of first-generation Korean Americans who immigrated in the 1970s and 1980s. The organization has expanded to capture stories across generations and communities, as well as producing community events like ROAR Story Slam and our annual gala. We value storytelling as a way to humanize our experiences while celebrating the diversity of our community, and we are looking to hire an Operations & Project Manager.

The Role:

The ideal candidate would be an energetic, highly organized, detail-oriented person who is a strong communicator, a team player, a capable multitasker, and a flexible problem solver. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations & Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing the logistics of running the organization, as well as managing all the projects of the organization. 

Operations: Working closely with the Executive Director, manage the daily operations of KAS including managing administrative work, HR, Finance & Accounting among other responsibilities. 

Project Management: Keep & manage a master schedule of all of KAS’ projects as well as working with the production team to coordinate the logistics of recordings locally as well as around the country. 

We are a virtual organization so you will be working remotely most of the time, with monthly in-person meetings, as well as other in-person meetings as necessary. There are recordings, events and meetings that will happen at non-traditional work hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations
• Administrative: managing insurance, equipment, file management, including large audio & video files on Dropbox and network-attached storage device.
• HR: Create and manage policies & procedures, manage benefits (health, 401K etc), create and manage hiring & onboarding process.
• Finance & Accounting: Payables, receivables, work with bookkeeper, the accountants and the Executive Director on financial and accounting reviews.
• Production: Create and maintain inventory of equipment.
• Support Executive Director on Development: Assist with grant administration, grant reports, year-end donation letters.

Project Management
• Work with Director of Production on project management of production logistics (scheduling, travel arrangements).
• Lead the team meeting in reviewing and updating all of KAS projects in weekly calls.

Support Executive Director and the other KAS team members as needed.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of employment experience preferred in operations or project management.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).
• Familiar with Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Slack and Dropbox products & services.
• Comfortable working remotely.
• Must be able to travel.
• Must live within a driving distance from NYC to participate in meetings & events.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Basic knowledge and interest in video production is a plus.
• Sense of humor & love for good food is a big plus!

Salary: $65,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience.
