We hosted our first ever Fall Benefit with a special Kimjang led by Hyosun Ro, creator of food blog Korean Bapsang. Who knew how long the process of making traditional kimchi really takes? Hyosun took us through the 2-day process with her expert, detailed instructions. With the 60 heads of cabbages our team prepared the day before, our guests transformed them all into kimchi – communal style – and experienced the true spirit of kimjang which brings people together! Special thank you to Hyosun Ro, Windrose Restaurant NYC, West 32 Soju, and our volunteers for a successful night! Photos: Alan Tan www.alan-tan.com

HAN IN TOWN Opening Reception
Presented in partnership with Flushing Town Hall, HAN IN TOWN (KoreaTown) is a photo series by Janice Chung that focuses on Korean American business owners of Flushing, Queens. While Flushing is now known to be a large hub of multi-ethnic communities, it was once the epicenter for Korean Americans. This project seeks to encapsulate a nostalgic era of Flushing while simultaneously pointing to the future, with the inclusion of 2nd generation business owners alongside their 1st generation counterparts.
