Legacy Project: Sylvia Kim

Category: Legacy Project, Original Video, Video

Sylvia is a lawyer by trade and also the Chief Innovation Officer at the Asian Pacific Community Fund based in Los Angeles. Sylvia shares her story growing up in Toronto with first generation Korean parents who owned a convenience store coincidentally just down the street from where Kim’s Convenience many years later was filmed and produced. While on her own cultural identity journey, she shares the experience finding out the deep roots her family has in North Korea which led her to dive deeper into North Korean human rights advocacy and philanthropic organizations. Special thanks to Suzan Lee Paek of Newport Beach, CA for hosting this Legacy Project video recording.
