Category: Legacy Project, Original Video, SaIGu LA Riots, Video

John Lim, then president of the Korean American Bar Association, recalls his experience of SaIGu and how he was moved to mobilize a team of over 80 lawyers to provide pro bono legal services for Korean Americans in the aftermath of SaIGu. John notes that the media focused on the tension between Korean Americans and African Americans, but believes the fundamental issue was and is about social justice and equity for all.

He is currently a partner at LimNexus LLP and is immediate past Board Chair of the Council for Korean Americans, as well as the past Board Chair of Asian Americans Advancing Justice—Los Angeles.
