Andy Marra – Love/Hate Project
Andy Marra is a Korean American adoptee and leader in LGBTQI advocacy. In this continuation of the Love/Hate Project series, Andy talks about what the process of coming to terms with her identity was like, and why being a transgender individual added a layer of fear in looking for her birth mother. “I was deathly afraid of coming out to my family, or the prospect of coming out to my family even though I knew that at a very young age I wanted to look for them and know more about my story.”
This is the third installment in the Love/Hate series of the Legacy Project, highlighting the Korean Adoptee experience, and the connection to mental health.
