We are hiring!
KoreanAmericanStory.org is looking for a digital production and social media intern (one position).
This is a part-time paid role with flexible hours and the work is remote (except for any necessary training or team brainstorming sessions). The current minimum workload is about 4-5 hours per week (16-20 hours per month), but there is room for additional hours, potentially 10 hours per week.
The main duties of the internship involve (but are not confined to):
-Updating our website with new content via WordPress
-Posting internal and external content on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to engage our community
-Emailing newsletters via Constant Contact
What we would like to see in a candidate:
-Passion for the Korean-American community and KoreanAmericanStory.org
-Independent, tech-savvy go-getter who works with integrity and is self-motivated, hardworking, organized, and attentive to details
-Experience with social media, WordPress (or another comparable CMS), and Constant Contact (or similar email marketing programs)
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable asking questions, following up, and sharing personal opinions
-Writing/editing experience a plus; good grammar a must
-Experience in HTML/CSS or graphic design a plus
-Someone in the New York City area is highly preferred (due to in-person training and meetings)
How to apply:
-Send your resume and cover letter describing why you would like to work with KoreanAmericanStory.org and why you are a fit for this role to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: KAS internship application. Any writing samples or portfolios demonstrating your skills, passion for the Korean-American community, or other ways you could contribute to the role are NOT necessary, but would be highly appreciated for consideration. Applications sent through other channels will NOT be considered.
There are many ways to grow and contribute in this role, so we encourage someone in this position to be vocal about their interests and career goals.
The position is paid per hour and the rate will be commensurate with experience. We will only contact individuals we would like to interview.
